The 18th November 2006 saw history being written.

Holmbush House hosted it's first "Pink Wedding"  when Anne and Vicky made their commitments to each other.

After the ceremony and reception there were further celebrations at a nearby Manor House with entertainment provided by an Irish band with a 'River Dance' style show and a Disco.

We have three delightful bedrooms, all are en-suite and have Tea/Coffee making facilities, Colour TV, alarm clock-radios and reading materials.

The Tudor room is in the oldest part of the house, built in Tudor times. There is a double bed and an en-suite shower.  The room affords view across the rear lawn and open fields to the Cuckmere Valley and the South Downs.

The Georgian room is situated in the front of the house with views of the main and side lawns.  The room has a double bed and is decorated with hints of the Orient.  The original 1930s Bathroom with black glass tiles has been kept and maintained as a unique feature.

The Twin room, as the name implies, has twin beds and is perhaps the 'prettiest' room overlooking the front lawn with it's Pampas Grasses and the run of Sweet Chestnut trees.

A Unique Licensed Venue for your Special Event

As possibly one of the most exciting experiences of your life, your wedding day needs to be perfect.  The outfit, the flowers and the cars are all essential elements in creating the final masterpiece.  One important factor that can make the day a resounding success or a disaster, however, is the venue for your wedding celebrations.

If you're looking for one of the loveliest venues that offers elegant surroundings, exceptional facilities and peerless service, then look no further than Holmbush House in East Sussex.  A Grade II Listed Georgian Country House originating in Tudor times, it offers all the splendour of a big hotel, but with all the advantages of remaining a private family home.  It not only provides the perfect setting for your reception, but is also licensed for civil wedding ceremonies, so you can arrange your entire day without the inconvenience of changing venues.

Holmbush House is truly a venue for all seasons.  In spring or summer, guests can take advantage of the idyllic gardens, and with nearly three acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, where there are plenty of opportunities for scenic photos.  In the autumn and winter months, there are roaring fires to keep you warm, and the opportunity to enjoy an intimate candlelit dinner in the company of friends and family.

Depending on the size of your celebration, there are two options available to you.  The Drawing Room, with its 150-year-old inglenook fireplace and oak beams can host up to 60 guests, or a marquee can be erected on one of the lawns to cater for larger parties.  Whatever your choice the team will ensure that your day is absolutely perfect and will also help select a beautician, cars, caterer, entertainment, florist, hair stylist, etc., and with three lovely en-suite bedrooms, you can even spend the night in this wonderfully historic building.
